3/6 - First game of the season and the teams both played well. The JV started us off and played a good game, with a majority of the players playing in their first game. Lead by good offensive work from Strati and Marty the team suffered a loss, but gained a lot of experience from the game.
3/8 - The frosh/soph of the team traveled to St. Patricks High School
and tackled good competition for the second year. Last year suffering
a loss due to bus troubles on Friday night, this year they looked to
avenge that loss and win the tournament.
Friday night the took care of thier first challenger, Stevenson, and won the game even with substitute goalies picking up the slack for the absent starting goalies.
Saturday they keep the momentum going and took care of Evanston and the host, St. Pats, to advance to the championship game against Brother Rice.
This game proved to be too much for the guys and they ended up taking Second Place in the tourney, receiving their much deserved trophy. Billy Jacob also took home honors by being named to the All Tournament team and also receiving a trophy.
